The world's two premiere auction houses, Christie’s and Sotheby’s, both have locations in New York City. Christie’s is housed in the heart of midtown in Rockefeller Center. Sotheby's relocated in November, 2025 from their 10-story home on York Avenue to the historic Breuer Building on Madison Avenue, the former Whitney Museum. Each House hosts museum quality exhibition previews that are open to the public for several days prior to an auction.  These previews are constantly changing - no week at either auction house looks the same which makes them very exciting places to visit.
